Assisted Living Facilities Programs
The Briggs Lawrence County Public Library
currently provides monthly programming as well
as delivery of books and other materials to these
Lawrence County assisted living facilities:  Bryant
Health Center, Christensen House, Harriette Lewis
Apartments, Heartland of Riverview, Jo-Lin Health
Center, Rivers Bend Health Care, Sherman-
Thompson Towers, and Sunset Nursing Center.
Monthly programs are also provided at the Ironton
Senior Citizen Center, Sybene Senior Citizen
Center, and Tri-State Industries.

Homebound Service
      Originally provided for the residents of Christensen, Harriette Lewis Apartments, and Sherman-Thompson Towers, this service has been expanded to most of Lawrence County.  For more information, please contact Amy Ward, Adult Services Librarian, at Proctorville Branch by email or by calling (740) 886-6697.

Talking Book Program
The Talking Book Program is available to any Lawrence County resident who is unable to read conventionally printed materials because of various limitations including:
Legal Blindness: Corrected vision acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye, or visual of 20 degrees or less.
Visual Disability: Not legally blind, but unable to read standard printed materials without specific devices other than regular eyeglasses, regardless of optical measurement.
Reading Disability: The result of an organic dysfunction, such as dyslexia, or sufficient severity to prevent the reading of printed material in a normal way.
Deaf/Blindness
Physical Disability (other than visual impairment): Unable to read a book, hold a book, or turn a page because of physical limitations, e. g. paralysis, arthritis, muscle or nerve deterioration, or extreme weakness.
